Beautiful sculpture in Carrara marble *, representing the bust of a young woman perhaps ancient Roman vestal signed Felix Jovino ** Italian School, early twentieth century period.

This sculpture is in good condition. It is signed at the bottom.

A report: minute scratches and dirt (small traces of wax at the top, easily removed), passage of time, see photos.
* Carrara marble is a type of marble, quarried in the Apuan Alps in the territory of Carrara (Italy), universally known as one of the most popular marbles for its whiteness without too much grain.

Jovino ** Felix (1882 -)

(Ec Italian) student of the Academy of Naples, he worked in Naples and Paris where he exhibited in 1910 and 1920 to 1922 in the lounge of the Society of French Artists. He also exhibited at the Salon in 1923 the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. He is a member of the Society of French Artists. (Extract Bénézit)
