Small polychrome earthenware statuette signed HB Quimper, representing Saint Anne of the Bretons, holding a marine anchor and the Virgin Mary child in front of her, signed Porson*, from the 20th century.
This statuette is in good condition, signed and numbered, see photos.

Henriette Porson was a French sculptor. She studied Fine Arts in Nantes and then in Paris at the Académie Julian. There, she took painting classes in the studio of Jean-Paul Laurens and sculpture classes in the studio of Henri Royer. From 1906 to 1914, she participated in the Salon des Artistes Français, where she won numerous medals and subsequently became a member. Her participation was rewarded with distinctions. In 1912, she founded a drawing, painting, and decorative arts course in Nantes. Around 1930, she began her collaboration with the HB factory. She participated in the 1931 Colonial Exposition, presenting a work entitled "Little Seated Arab." Her contribution was awarded a silver medal. In 1947, she participated in the Nantes Sacred Art Exhibition, again with the HB factory. His Nantes studio, located at the corner of rue Boileau and rue du Chapeau-Rouge, was destroyed during the bombings of September 1943. The Château des Ducs de Bretagne - Musée d'Histoire de Nantes, has a collection consisting mainly of plasters, some of them painted, earthenware and charcoal drawings, donated by the artist's aunt.
