* Deyrolle:

was founded in 1831 by Jean-Baptiste Deyrolle. Established definitively on April 1, 1888, under the direction of Émile Deyrolle, grandson of the founder Jean-Baptiste Deyrolle quickly relayed by his son Achille Deyrolle, at 46, rue du Bac in a private mansion built in 1697-1699 for Jean- Baptiste Voille by one of the Bruands. It was profoundly transformed in 1739 for Samuel-Jacques Bernard, son of the banker of Louis XIV Samuel Bernard (7th arrondissement), the house had been founded in 1831. Beyond its scientific material, collections of minerals, shells, lepidoptera and insects, fossils, stuffed animals and prehistoric tools, it provides schools and universities in France with large plates and wall maps intended to illustrate the lessons of teachers (Deyrolle School Museum). In 1995, the painter Richard Marolle acquired the Maison Deyrolle, this two-hundred-year-old Parisian institution which imposed natural sciences on schools in the 19th century. It had been rumored for a long time that the venerable Parisian house was going to be sold. In 2001 Louis Albert de Broglie took over the company and restored the ground floor of the store.
