Frame presenting a ribbon that belonged to Lucile de Chateaubriand* known as Mme de Caud (1764-1804), writer and sister of François-René de Chateaubriand, vintage early 19th century.

This set is in good condition. The ribbon dates from the 18th century, framed in the 19th century.

*Lucile de Chateaubriand,

born in Saint-Malo in 1764, died in Paris in 1804, is a French woman of letters, author of tales and poems in prose. She is the older sister of the writer François-René de Chateaubriand, who speaks of her with emotion in his Memoirs. She was raised at the Château de Combourg with her brother François-René. Brother and sister have real affection for each other. During the French Revolution, she was at the origin of the marriage of her brother François-René in 1792 with her friend Céleste Buisson de la Vigne, whom she followed to prison under the Terror in 1793, at the Bon-Pasteur in Rennes, which became La Motte prison. She was released following 9 Thermidor. She was married in Rennes in 1796 (year IV) to Jacques-Louis-René de Caud, known as the Chevalier de Caud, born in Rennes in 1727, therefore aged 69, former commander of the town of Fougères and its castle.
