Camphor tree * travel trunk covered with green leather, nails, handles and gilded brass reinforcements, XIXth century.

This trunk is in good condition. The lock is signed "patent". We don't have his key.

* The camphor tree or camphor tree is a tree of the Lauraceae family, from which camphor is extracted by distillation of its wood. Camphor wood, whose peculiar smell resists for several years, benefits from fungicidal properties which repel moths. For this reason, it has long been used for the manufacture of trunks to transport furs and clothing.
