Pair of large consoles of wall * Italian wall, carved gilded wood foliage decoration, period first part twentieth century.
These consoles are in good condition and are very decorative.
A note: the bottom of a console has been glued, slot glued also on the other, light spots on the trays, some small scratches and slight wear of time especially on the gilding, see photos (see red arrows).
* Called "consoles of appliques", the consoles are often placed against a woodwork, a trumeau, between two windows or two doors. Under Napoléon III, we see the reborn consoles with important plant ornaments. (extract from the Dicionnaire Larousse antiques and flea market).
