Small green leather purse with a bronze medal by Joseph Bonaparte * king of Spain and India (1808), Empire period early 19th century.

This wallet is in its own juice.

A note: tear at the top (the fastener is torn), wear and scratches on the leather, see photos.

* Joseph Bonaparte (1768 -1844)

is the older brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. He was first a lawyer, then a diplomat and a soldier. Under the First Empire, he was appointed French prince with a predicate of imperial highness, was appointed grand-elector of the Empire and as such regent during the campaign of 1805. In 1806, he was appointed king of Naples and then in 1808, king of Spain and India. In 1814 and during the Hundred Days, he was appointed lieutenant-general and regent of the Empire.
