Pair of Italian wall sconces*, in gilded carved wood decorated with stylized foliage scrolls, from the first part of the 20th century.
These consoles are in good overall condition and are very decorative.

Please note: there are some minor accidents and missing gilding in places, scratches and wear from age, dirt and stains, see photos.
*Called "wall brackets," these brackets are often placed against wood paneling, a pier glass, or between two windows or doors. Under Napoleon III, brackets with elaborate plant motifs reappeared. (excerpt from the Larousse Dictionary of Antiques and Secondhand Goods).
