Very nice little seal or stamp * Sterling silver, adorned with a monogram, stamped boar's head, round agate, of XIXth century.

This seal is in good condition.

A note: the silver part is a little bent, some scratches and wear on the agate (red arrow), see photos.

* Stamp: collectible whose earliest examples date back four thousand years before our era. The stamp was first used to affix the personal brand of a character to ensure the contents of a box or an envelope, the authenticity of a document. Moreover, as the term was used seal. The little personal touch is indeed used in Europe since the Middle Ages. This may be a rise of a hard stone Intaglio ring or gold kitten engraved hollow (the signet is not anything else!).
