* Omega

is a Swiss luxury watch company established in Biel. In 1848, Louis Brandt, then 23 years old, opened a business counter5 at La Chaux-de-Fonds in the canton of Neuchâtel. His watches bear the mark "Louis Brandt". In 1879, the two sons of the founder, Louis-Paul and César Brandt, decided to embark on "American-style" industrial manufacturing. They settle permanently in Biel in the canton of Bern. Before the end of the decade, the company becomes the largest of the Swiss watch industry. Due to its age, longevity, visibility (sports timing, space conquest) and size, Omega is one of the leading companies in the Swiss watch industry. It has indeed been the pioneer in the industrialization of production (mechanization, mass production).
