* Zenith:

At 22 years, Georges Favre-Jacot settles on his account as a clockmaker in Le Locle. He was the first to found a real manufacture in 1865. Ten years later, the company employs a third of the active population of Locle. In 1899, Georges Favre-Jacot presented his first pocket chronograph and won various prizes, including the first prize at the Mondial de Paris. In 1911, Georges Favre-Jacot gave the direction of the manufacture to his descendants, who named it Zenith, the name of the highest point of the trajectory of a star in the sky. In 1920, Zenith launched its first wristwatches, continuing its development until it bought the Martel Watch Co. in 1960. Over the years, Zenith was to sign many innovations.
