Pair of gouaches depicting women dressed in antique style (Vestals) in romantic landscapes: one places her flowered basket on a fluted column (perhaps Allegory of the Altar of Friendship); the other pensive at the foot of an urn-amphora (Allegory of Sensitivity or Ode to Love), signed Fecit Caroline (perhaps for the painter Caroline Von Der Embde), from the 19th century.
These gouaches are in good condition, as are their gilded wood frames. They are under glass. Signed in the landscape, see photos.
Please note: some minor accidents and wear on the frames, wear and tear over time, see photos.
