Exceptional and rare jumper horse ride or carousel, polychrome carved wood, eyes sulphide, wrought iron holder and twisted metal bar, certainly the work of the famous Gustave Bayol * XIXth century.

This horse is in good condition, it has undergone some uses of time. It is not signed but is certainly Bayol work of the famous manufacturer.

A note: accidents, holes and gaps on wood, wear and gaps in polychrome missing pieces on the hind legs, while looking at the pictures (red arrows).

* Gustave Bayol (1859-1931):

born in Le Pontet, near Avignon, a carpenter father, and soon became interested in woodworking. He attended the School of Fine Arts in Avignon. Based in Angers, he created in this city and it developed from 1887 to 1909 rides a manufacturing company that was the best of its kind in France, and one of the most internationally traded. Workshops Gustave Bayol who realize increasingly fairground subjects, as working for the circus. Witness the chariot made for the Pinder Circus and presented for the first time at the Salon des Amis des Arts d'Angers in 1895. The order books are full. At the end of the nineteenth century, Bayol workshops symbolize the French showman Art.
